Antero Resources – Waterline

 West Union, West Virginia

C.A. Murren completed the installation of nearly 90,000 linear feet of 24-inch HDPE pipeline as part of the Waterline project for Antero Resources in the challenging terrain of northern West Virginia.

 The Work

The scope included fusion, excavation, and installation of DR 7 and DR 9 high-density polyethylene pipe across approximately 17 miles of right-of-way. Throughout the project, the new pipeline paralleled and crossed existing 20-inch high-pressure gas transmission lines, requiring careful planning, coordination, and execution to maintain safety and production. Additional work included four river crossings, two jack-and-bore railroad crossings, two pump stations, and eight horizontal directional drills totaling more than 6,100 linear feet.

Environmental stewardship was a critical component of the project. Our team installed and maintained approximately 17 miles of erosion and sediment control measures and completed full restoration and reclamation of the right-of-way upon completion of construction.

 Project Highlights

What made this project particularly noteworthy was the scale and difficulty of the terrain. Located in the mountains of West Virginia, the project required trenching through approximately 17 miles of rock while maintaining production across a lengthy corridor. Successfully navigating the challenging subsurface conditions, utility conflicts, water crossings, and environmental requirements demonstrates C.A. Murren’s ability to execute large-scale pipeline infrastructure projects in some of the most demanding field conditions.
